What are CS:GO Skins and Their Value

CS:GO Skins

After the Arms Deal update that happened in August 2013, players have revealed a collection of decorated black market weapons that are equipable in-game which is now called as ‘skins’ or ‘finishes.’ Their functions are purely cosmetic but some have tactical advantage or bonuses in-game.

Weapon Quality

The availability of the weapon skins come in grades, to show their value if they are rare or common. These colors are displayed at the player’s HUD or player interface.

  • White - The common skins, called as Consumer Grade
  • Light Blue - Industrial grade skins which are uncommon
  • Darker Blue - High grade and rare skins
  • Purple - Restricted Grade and Mythical skins
  • Pinkish Purple - Classified Grade and Legendary Skins
  • Red - Covert Grade and Ancient Skins
  • Gold - Melee Weapons, Exceedingly rare skins
  • Yellow Orange - Discontinued items and Immortal Skins

Item Exterior

The skins can vary by the paint job on the weapon itself. The skins do not degrade over time, they are a choosable purchase option on how you want your weapon to look. The skins’ price also varies from their exterior look. The Factory New has the full dedicated price, while the Battle-Scarred has lower, if you may, a discounted price.

  • Factory New - Has the highest quality design/full paint job
  • Minimal Wear - Lesser quality than Factory New, but slightly deteriorated
  • Field-Tested - Has paint scars and degrades
  • Well-Worn  - Already faded paint
  • Battle-Scarred - Degraded paint job with scars

While skins holds a cosmetic value, it also holds real money value. Some skins can cost up to 1000 USD. Which is also an adaptable money making method. Betting should be done smartly, it is not just placing a bet on a team and hope for the best of luck to happen. It is based on legit CSGO betting odds, statistics, and research.
